Eric Coates is founder and CEO of Luminous Christian Comics. He also is the creator of The Holy Quest series. He does story(character) creation, pencils, and inking for the company as well. A brief history about Mr. Coates, when he was a boy, he loved to draw. He was always found with his head down, close to the paper, drawing away. He was so in tune when he was drawing that his surroundings would disappear. During his education era, Eric would get involved in many art contest. In elementary school, he won first place in a bookmark contest. In Jr. high through high school, he would always enter The Spring Arts Fair. Again, winning first place for his works in different categories of art. In his college years, he exposed his talents to new styles of art. Ranging from printing to computer graphics. Thus, it gave him the opportunity to explore new areas in the world of art. Which help him enhance his skills. When completing college, he received his Associates Degree in Arts and Science. Besides his love for art and story creation, Eric loved to read comic books about super heroes and sci-fi. He loved comic books so much that he would make comic books of his own. He would create the stories and draw out the sequences. He hope and dreamed that one day, he could make a career in making comic books. When it came to God, Eric always love the Lord and enjoyed having discussions about him. Some how, he always felt that God had a special mission for him to do. At the time, he had no clue what his calling was. Till one day God revealed it to him. Eric put two and two together; he got these amazing gifts and he wanted to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That's when the idea of putting together a series of christian comic books and making a ministry of it, whacked him in the head. For years, Eric worked hard at putting together the ministry, the art and business portions of it. On his journey, Eric had some ups, downs, getting sidetracked, and making wrong choices. Thus, he never gave up but kept taking up the cross and moved on. He knew this is what God wanted him to do and no demon in hell would stop him. Having faith and knowing God was with him 100% helped Eric meet his goals and become successful. Eric knows that he hasn't even touch the tip of the ice burg on what God has for him and the ministry. Thanks to the good Lord, Eric's hopes and dreams had come true. With giving the chance to make comic books and spreading the gospel, you can say he got his cake and eating it too.
